Have you given all to Jesus Christ?

Old_coin
An unemployed graduate woke up one morning and checked his
pocket. All he had left was $10. He decided to use it to buy food and then wait
for death as he was too proud to go begging. He was frustrated as he could find
no job, and nobody was ready to help him.

He bought food and as he sat down to eat, an old man and two little children
came along and asked him to help them with food as they had not eaten for
almost a week. He looked at them. They were so lean that he could see their
bones coming out. Their eyes had gone into the socket.

With the last bit of compassion he had, he gave them the food. The old man and
children prayed that God would bless and prosper him and then gave him a very
old coin.

The young graduate said to them "you need the prayer more than I do".

With no money, no job, no food, the young graduate went under the bridge to
rest and wait for death. As he was about to sleep, he saw an old newspaper on
the ground. He picked it up, and suddenly he saw an ad vertisement for people
with old coins to come to a certain address.

He decided to go there with the old coin the old man gave him. On getting to
the place, he gave the proprietor the coin. The proprietor screamed, brought
out a big book and showed the young graduate a photograph. This same old coin
was worth 3 million dollars. The young graduate was overjoyed as the proprietor
gave him a bank draft for 3 million dollars within an hour. He collected the
Bank Draft and went in search of the old man and little children.

By the time he got to where he left them eating, they had gone. He asked the
owner of the canteen if he knew them. He said no but they left a note for you.
He quickly opened the note thinking it would lead him to find them.

This is what the note said: "You gave us your all and we have rewarded you
back with the coin" Signed God the Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost. 1

How to DOUBLE MURDER the English Language

December 27th, 2007 by aspen

Lol

got this from a post in my friendster bulletin. thanks karen!!!

THE! (Duh!)

We’ve been friends for a long time
ago. We come from the same alma
mother. Actually, our paths crossed
one time on another. But it’s only
now that I gave him a second look. I
realized that beauty is in the eyes.
The pulpbits of my heart went fast,
really fast. Cute pala siya.

And then, he came over with me. He
said, "I hope you don’t mine. Can I
get your number?" Nag-worry ako. What
if he doesn’t give it back? He
explained naman na it’s so we could
keep intact daw.

Sabi ko, connect me if i’m wrong but
are you asking me ouch? Nabigla siya.
Sagot niya, The!

Aba! The nerd, parang siya pa ang
galit! Persona ingrata!!! Ang kapal
niya! I cried buckles of tears.

Na-guilty yata siya. Sabi niya, isipin
mo na lang na this is a blessing in
the sky. Irregardless daw of his
feelings, we’ll go ouch na rin. Now,
we’re so in love. Mute and epidemic na
ang past. Thanks God we swallowed our
fried. Kasi, I’m 33 na and I’m running
our time.

After 2 weeks, he plopped the
question. "Will you marriage me?" I’m
in a state of shocked. Kasi
mantakin mo, when it rains, it’s four!
This is true good to be true. So
siyempre, I said yes. Love is a many
splendor.

Pero nung inaayos ko na ang aming
kasal, everything swell to pieces. Nag-
di-dinner kami noon nang biglang sa
harap ng aming table, may babaeng
humirit ng, "Well, well, well. Look do
we have here."

What the fuss! The nerd ng babaeng
yon! She said they were still on. So
I told her, whatever is that, cut me
some slacks! I didn’t want this to get
our hand kaya I had to sip it in the
bud.

She accused me of steeling her
boyfriend. Ats if! I don’t want to
portrait the role of the other
woman. Gosh, tell me to the marines! I
told her, "Please, mine you own
business!" Who would believe her
anyway?

Dahil it’s not my problem anymore but
her problem anymore, tumigil na rin
siya ng panggugulo. Everything is
coming up daisies. I’m so happy. Even
my boyfriend said liketwice. He’s so
supportive. Sabi niya, "Look at is
this way. She’s our of our lives."

Kaya advise ko sa inyo - take the
risk. You can never can tell. Just
burn the bridge when you get there.
Life is shorts. If you make a
mistake, we’ll just pray for the
internal and external repose of your
soul.

I second emotion.

“The 12 Days of Christmas” = Origins and Religious Meaning

December 15th, 2007 by aspen

"The Twelve Days of Christmas" was written in England as one of the "catechism songs" to help young Catholics learn the basics of their faith. In short, it was a coded-message, a memory aid. Since the song sounded like rhyming nonsense, young Catholics could sing the song without fear of imprisonment. The authorities would not know that it was a religious song.

"The 12 Days of Christmas" is in a sense an allegory. Each of the items in the song represents something significant to the teachings of the Catholic faith. The hidden meaning of each gift was designed to help Catholic children learn their faith. The better acquainted one is with the Bible, the more these interpretations have significance.

The song goes, "On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me…"  The "true love" mentioned in the song doesn’t refer to an earthly suitor, but it refers to God Himself. The "me" who receives the presents refers to every baptized person. i.e. the Church.

Partridge
1st Day:     The partridge in a pear tree is Christ Jesus upon the Cross. In the song, Christ is symbolically presented as a mother partridge because she would feign injury to decoy a predator away from her nestlings. She was even willing to die for them.
The tree is the symbol of the fall of the human race through the sin of Adam and Eve. It is also the symbol of its redemption by Jesus Christ on the tree of the Cross
.

2_turtle_doves
2nd Day: The "two turtle doves" refers to the Old and New Testaments.

3_french_hens
3rd Day:     The "three French hens" stand for faith, hope and love—the three gifts of the Spirit that abide (1 Corinthians 13).

20fourcallingbirds72
4th Day:     The "four calling birds" refers to the four evangelists who wrote the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke and John—which sing the song of salvation through Jesus Christ.

5_gold_rings
5th Day:     The "five golden rings" represents the first five books of the Bible, also called the Jewish Torah: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.

6_geese
6th Day:     The "six geese a-laying" is the six days of creation.

Seven_swans_aswimming
7th Day:     The "seven swans a-swimming" refers to the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety and fear of the Lord.

Tt_28306_eight_maids_amilking
8th Day:     The "eight maids a milking " reminded children of the eight beatitudes listed in the Sermon on the Mount.

Nine_ladies_dancing
9th Day:     The "nine ladies dancing" were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.

Ten_lords_aleaping
10th Day: The "ten lords a-leaping" represents the Ten Commandments.

Eleven_pipers_piping
11th Day: The "eleven pipers piping" refers to the eleven faithful apostles.

Twelve_drummers_drumming
12th Day: The ‘twelve drummers drumming" were the twelve points of belief expressed in the Apostles’ Creed: belief in God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, that Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary, made man, crucified, died and arose on the third day, that he sits at the right hand of the father and will come again, the resurrection of the dead and life everlasting.

So the next time you hear "the Twelve Days of Christmas" consider how this otherwise non-religious sounding song had its origins in keeping alive the teaching of the Catholic faith.
